Decide what continuity needs to do
Visual continuity helps a viewer understand that the opening and product view belong to the same idea. It does not require pretending that a generated creator actually used the app. Start with the approved hook and the product action that proves it; visual matching cannot fix an unsupported claim.
The examples below are fictional shot plans. They are not annotated frames from an owned recording or proof that an edit has been made.
Plan eyeline and transition
If the creator looks to the right and the next shot shows an app screen, a simple cut may feel coherent when the screen appears in a consistent direction. Alternatively, use a neutral forward-facing reaction and a clear screen cut. Do not force an eyeline that hides the face or makes the action unnatural.
Write down the last visible reaction frame and first product frame after you actually obtain the footage. Check whether the viewer can tell what changed. If the connection is unclear, add a short truthful bridge label rather than implying a real interaction that did not occur.
| Element | Planning question | Actual evidence needed |
|---|---|---|
| Eyeline | Does the direction help the handoff? | Approved hook end frame |
| Motion | Is the cut understandable? | Real frames on either side |
| Orientation | Can the screen fit a vertical edit? | Original and final crop |
| Proof | Is the promised feature visible? | Sanitized app recording |
Review movement and orientation
A moving hand or camera can make a cut feel abrupt if the screen suddenly moves in a conflicting direction. Consider a still product frame or a short pause when the motion is distracting. For vertical social video, confirm that the app screen is readable within the portrait frame and preserve enough interface context around the feature.
Do not stretch or crop the product view until controls are unrecognizable. If a screen requires a landscape capture, plan the crop and show only a genuine, sanitized view.
Annotate actual frames before approval
Capture the real end frame of the hook, the first demo frame and the result frame from assets you may use. Note the eyeline, direction of movement and readable feature in each; compare them at phone size. Ask an unfamiliar reviewer what action the edit shows.
Do not label a planning diagram as a real before-and-after example. Secure rights for any third-party footage and verify captions and product facts in the final export. No performance result can be inferred from this plan.
